Hare at Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art
In case you accidentally pass by between September 18th and and October 1st, have look at the "special project "Bits to Pieces" at CCA Sokol.
there, you will find the hare... and some artefacts he produced for the hedgehog:
The Teeth of the Hedgehog
Recently the hare had a discussion with an ethicist who got upset by the rotten teeth of the hedgehog. You maybe know that the little animal now lives in a nursery home for severely disabled animals where it receives 24-hour care. During one of the races with the hare, the hedgehog had crashed into a tree so that, due to a traumatic brain injury, he currently suffers from a prolonged comatose state.
„Obviously,“ the ethicist said, „the hedgehog‘s quality of life would drastically improve if someone could repair his teeth.“ But who can afford paying a dentist to help a poor and disabled hedgehog? The hare, cogitating, had an idea: he organized a skull of a hedgehog that he could use as parts depot. But, alas, the teeth of the bony fellow were also rotten. So the hare extracted two teeth of the mandible and made 3D scans of the teeth. He then quickly had produced ceramic (yes, ceramic!!) 3D prints of those complex geometries that allow hedgehogs to enjoy their entomological meals. The hare now will implant the teeth into the hedgehog‘‘s lower jaw. „This is a promising start“, the hare rejoicingly thinks. „As soon I will have put some money aside I will exchange the rest of the hedgehogs teeth.“
The work "The teeth of the hedgehog" was developed during the course of the research project: "Comedy of Errors, Tragedy of Decisions". It intends to bring together academic and artistic approaches to manifest and contribute to questions of public and philosophical involvement in the field of neurosciences, clinical medicine and patient’s care.
